Marcey has been involved in education since 1959. Really! After completing her experiential research at the age of 21, she continued with reality based research in classroom teaching, parenting and world travel. (OK, Do the math on her age). She has survived parenthood, New Math, redistricting, menopause, hiking the Grand Canyon and the Alps and getting 15 year old boys into tights*.

*as producer of the Michigan Youth Theater, a Shakespearean troupe of teens :-)

Criss crossing the country from Pennsylvania to Florida, Ohio, Missouri and finally Michigan, her experience spanned public, private, charter and home education, forging her unique view point on lifelong learning and successful education in spite of the circumstances.

Marcey then went on to earn her "Masters in Reality" with a major in Parent/Child Relationships. What does she DO???

Marcey catches and holds the attention of thousands of kids every year to excite them about science and math and REALITY. BIG picture concepts are easy to understand with drama and kinesthetic activities that engage all types of learners. And...she inspires teachers, parents and mentors to do the same thing!

Symptoms of Highly Contagious Education:

  • Compelled to teach children and to make teaching easier for others
  • Consistent, annoyingly high level of energy (usually precipitated by the presence of children asking "Why?")
  • Sudden passion to research, seeking out unusual and fun aspects of math, science and reality concepts
  • Inability to discard everyday items and fun toys which make concepts visual and hands on
  • Constant scribbling of notes as ideas develop for kinesthetic activities which make BIG picture concepts easy to grasp for all types of learners...

HCE Programs makes science and math and REALITY fun for over 40,000 kids a year! Marcey Walsh has taught children from 3 to 93 over the last 15 years. Entertainers are fun to watch, but learning occurs when students are involved through "bodies-on" interactive activities.
